We want to concentrate this page on the football because this is the only sport hungary had some successes in.

The golden team from Hungary, was the team that ruled the world between 1952 and 1956. This team existed out of four world stars : Ferenc Puskas, Sándor Kocsis, József Bozsik and striker Nándor Hidegkuti. The highest point was the final of the World Cup 1954, they loose this game from West Germany with 3-2, but this was the first medaille in Hungarian history.
After, this Hungary won the Olympic cup in 1952, 1964 and 1968. Also the youth teams of Hungary won many titles. The team under 23 and 21 won 3 titles.

At this moment, Hungary tries to join the Europians Championship 2008.

Ferenc Puskas was the best Hungarian football player in the Hungarian history.
He was part of the Magical Magyars, the dreamteam from the Golden Age in Hungarian football. They reached the final of the World Cup in 1954. In this final they lost with 3-2 from West Germany. Together with Sándor Kocsis and József Bozsik he formed the most dangerous trio form the whole world in that time. On the 17th of November in 2006 Ferenc Puskas died from a heart attack.
