Christianity, Islam And Chinese Religion A Comparing

On this webpage we will compare three religions: Christianity, Islam and Chinese Religion. We will go over some points and so show differences which are most of the time quite big.

1. Who is the founder of Christianity, Islam and Chinese religion?

Christianity
The founder of Christianity isn't Jesus as we think. Most of the New Testament doesn't even concern the historical Jesus while the main influence is the Apostle Paul and through the church he founded at Ephesus a Greek convert named John. The Apostle Paul didn't even met Jesus.
Islam
Mohammed was the founder of the Islam. Mohammed is the prophet who's described in the Quran as the founder of the Islam. So that's the real founder of the Islam. Mohammed claimed to be Allah's last prophet and that the Koran was Allah's last book.
Chinese religion
In fact, the Chinese religion hasn't got any founders, leaders, headquarters or denominations. Instead the Chinese religion is a general term used to describe the interaction of different religious and philosophical traditions which have been infleuntial in china.

2. How old are these religions?

Christianity
Christianity is about six thousand years old!
Islam
The Islam is about 1400 years old.
Chinese religion
Because the Chinese religion has no founder, it's hard to say how old it is.

3.Countries were these religions are populair

Christianity
Christianity is settled or populair in the region of Europe, North-Africa and the USA. A lot of people there go to church every Sunday and they read the Bible.
Islam
Today, People who's religion is Islam may be found throughout the world, particularly in the Middle East and North, West and East Africa. Some of the majority-Muslim countres are founded in South and Southeast or central Asia.
Chinese religion
Chinese religion is mostly found in China. That's not so weird, because the name isn't for nothing Chinese religion.

4.What's the status of women in the different religions?

Christianity
In Christianity, women and men have the same rights. That there can also be big difference in rights will be shown in the Islam. Women are ment to do the household in Christianity, while the men take care of the earning of some money.
Islam
In the Islam, the woman has to hide herself. That's because the men say to her: "You are like a diamond and if you have a very expensive diamond, you don't show it to everyone, but you will save it. That's the same with a woman. She is my diamond." Because of this the women will do stay at home while the men earn money or go to a pub. The women have to listen to their husbands and they have to obey.
Chinese religion
Also in the Chinese religion the woman stays at home and the men works. Families can only have one child, a rule formed by the government and so not because of their religion.

5. What's their place of worship?

Christianity
An other word for places of worship in Christen language is Church, so actually all the churches that are build for Christianity, are their places of worship.
Islam
An other word for a place of worship in Islam language is Mosque, so actually all the mosques that are build for Islam, are their places of worship.
Chinese religion
They don’t have a real place of worship, they go to the Buddhist temples.

6. What's their number of followers?

Christianity
Christianity has got about 2.1 billion followers
Islam
The Islam has got about 1.3 billion followers
Chinese religion
And the Chinese religion has got about 394 million of followers.

7. How do the religion influences their lives e.g food, marriage, restrictions?

Christianity
The religion influences the people at different things. Like the people can’t have sex before marriages and they can’t have affaires.
Islam
In the Islam, food is divided into 3 groups:
Halal – food that can be eated
Makruh – food you can eat, but it’s better if you don’t
Haram – food you can’t eat
The Islam people can’t eat meat from a pig. That’s forbidden. The Islam has every year a month when the people don’t eat when it’s day time. They can only eat when the sun is set.
Chinese religion
The people that believe in the Chinese religion follow the rules from the Taoists. That’s also a religion.

8. What are their main celebrations and/or holy days?

Christianity
Good Friday, Easter, "Sinterklaas", Christmas, Advent, Holy Thursday, Lent, Palm sunday etc.
Islam
Al-Hijra Muharram, Ashura recalls, Mawlid al-Nabi, Ramadan, Id al-Fitr
Chinese religion
Chinese new year.

9. Holy Book

Christianity
The holy Book from the Christens is the Bible
Islam
The holy book from the Muslims is the Quran
Chinese religion
They follow the rules and principles from the Taoitsts, so they don’t have a own holy book.
